Election Day has come and gone, and like so many of us, I am beyond relieved that’s it’s in the rearview mirror. Up until two years ago, I would have thought you were smoking too many extra-legal substances if you’d told me the campaigns would sink to the level of depravity this one did. I stopped watching the evening news last summer because the commercials were endless. They even pushed the Viagra/Cialis ads aside, and that’s something I did not think possible.
Regardless of who you supported, I hope you got out and voted. I was raised to believe voting was a God-given right, which in turn made it a solemn duty. If I hadn’t voted, my father would have come back from the grave to give me hell.
I hope everyone enjoyed the opening of Book 2. Goodness knows it took me long enough to get it done and out for you to read. I want to say how touched I am by how many of you stuck around while I worked through all the diversions along the way. Your loyalty and patience are my reward for all the time and effort that go into telling the story of our lovely heroines. I can’t adequately express how much it means to me to know I have the best readers out there. I also want to thank all of you who’ve taken the time to send me your kind and supportive comments. Notes from you are my royalty checks, and I treasure them deeply.
From what you’ve written in those comments, it’s clear you’re happy with the new World of Letoria website, too. There have been remarkably few glitches so far, which is a testament to the skill and dedication of Ian, my web guru. He is one special guy, and I am blessed to have him as a friend and colleague.
I think you’ll be pleased to know I’ve started work on Chapter 2. It’ll probably be slow going until the Holidays are over, but I’ll keep plugging away as time permits. I’ve finished the outline I’ll use as my guide, and started the actual writing. A few of you have sent me suggestions which I plan to incorporate into the story. I want to thank those of you who offered me your ideas. Keep sending them, and whenever possible I’ll use them in the story.
I’m going to do my best to post updates here as often as possible. I may just ramble on about irrelevancies, but at least you’ll know I’m still plugging away and not missing in action.
Which reminds me, it’s Veteran’s/Armistice Day as I write this. To all of you who are veterans in whatever country you call home, thank you for your service. Without you, I would not be able to share this story. Thank you.
